Deer hunting
You might have heard by now that there’s some deer hunting going on in town. So far three deer have been killed this year in Nathan and Jessica Lau’s backyard. Two of them were does and the other one was a buck. Prof. Naumann, who got the buck this year, tries to come over a few times a week to hunt. He has been hunting ever since he was twelve, when his dad took him hunting. He says, “One of the most satisfying things about hunting is being able to provide nutritious and tasty food for my family.” Prof. Naumann is a very experienced hunter who has shot deer, elk, and even had a license to shoot bear before. However, this is his first time hunting in an urban environment. He says that hunting in a city like this has its challenges and rewards. One big advantage is that the deer are used to loud noises and aren’t scared away as easily as they are in the country. Out in the country, if they even get a sniff of humans, they usually run away. Four deer were killed last year in the Lau’s backyard, and three have been killed so far this year. Bow season doesn’t end until January. So if you want to be the next one to get a big buck, and you have a bow and a bow license, ask Nathan or Jessica Lau.
Happy hunting!
