Blowin' off the Blues
We know that most, if not all, of us are in the “Mehhh” stage for 3rd quarter start up. Probably even some of the teachers are feeling the pain. We just got back after a glorious three-week break, Christmas celebrations, and awesome food, so it is slightly understandable. But guys, come on, it really isn’t that bad. Everything has its drawbacks, but it does have upsides, too.
If you are a dormie, such as myself, and live a long distance away from your friends, or maybe a certain special someone, at ILC you get to see them every day again. You athletic people out there, sports are up and running. (Ha, get it, running? Because you have to do a lot of running in basketball? Okay, that was bad, but, any way.) Mini-classes are coming up in just a few weeks. And we aren’t even going to act like we aren’t excited for Formal, because, let’s be real, we are. School will be school, but there are some big bonuses as well.
More importantly than all of the activities involved with our not-so-heroic school comeback, there is the nature of our school itself. We are all extremely blessed to have this place to come to daily and feel secure in our faith, as well as built up in it. We have some pretty snazzy Profs to teach us the great academic ways. Again, in a Christian fashion.
So, if you are feeling down or annoyed about being back to school again, just think about some of those things. There are tons of great things about being back at school; you just might have to put a little effort into finding them.
