Fake News
Fake News
So, I figured that by this issue you'd all be expecting the bizarre story to be fake news, since you probably saw the last edition. In light of this, I went with the following: below are three news stories. I only made one of them up. Can you guess which?
A) My, What Big Puppies You Have.
Two years ago, a Chinese man bought a pair of "good-looking pups" from a Vietnamese seller. He raised them, played with them, fed them. Only a few years later did he realize that they were actually bears. Yes. Bears. You know that guy who walks the huge dog that makes you think, "Wow, that dog is so big it could be a bear!"? Well, maybe it is a bear.
B) Scared Nutty
Recently, a would-be thief was deterred from an attempted robbery at a residence in Idaho by a vicious defense squirrel. The teenage thief, who wishes to remain anonymous, was attempting to break into a gun safe in the home of a Mr. Adam Pearl, when he was attacked by Pearl’s pet squirrel, Joey. Police investigating the scene were told that the squirrel incident, “Scared him, obviously, because he wasn’t expecting to have, you know, a squirrel come flying out of nowhere at him.” Pearl had been intending to release Joey back into the wild, but now, he says, he’s not so sure.
C) What a Shocker
A middle-aged Georgian man was recently admitted to a local hospital for light burns on his arm due to an electrical shock. How had he received it? He and a friend had been playing golf by a local beach while a thunderstorm was moving in. They decided the threat of lightning was slight and kept playing, but one received a nasty jolt in the arm when he was about to make a hole… not from lightning, mind you- in the downstroke, he had inadvertently struck a jellyfish that had washed in from the nearby ocean.
Answer: C. I found the other two online, so they must be true.
