Things I Learned on Spring Break
What do you get when you stuff three senior boys, all their stuff, and a cooler stocked with food into a Buick of questionable reliability? My spring break. I’d like to share some things I learned, along with where they were learned.
Fargo, ND, 3/10/17: There is a town in North Dakota called Dickinson. Their high school team name is the “Midgets.”
Fargo, ND, 3/11/17: It’s cold.
Bismarck, ND, 3/11/17: The Bismarck mall > the Eau Claire mall.
Lemmon, SD, 3/11/17: There are three churches in Lemmon. We found them all.
Lemmon, SD, 3/11/17: Our Tour Choir is REALLY GOOD.
Between Lemmon and Keystone, SD, 3/12/17: Absolutely nothing.
Between Custer and Cheyenne, WY, 3/12/17: There are people in Wyoming.
Cheyenne, WY, 3/14/17: Mountains are cool. Rock climbing is fun.
Estes Park, CO, 3/15/17: Mountains are REALLY COOL.
Cheyenne, WY, 3/15/17: Smoke coming out of the steering wheel does not mean the car is dying (necessarily).
Laramie, WY, 3/17/17: Downhill skiing is a good time.
Somewhere in NE, 3/18/17: CarHenge is a thing, I guess.
Between Badlands and Sioux Falls, SD, 3/18/17: Nope.
Between Sioux Falls and Inver Grove Heights, MN, 3/19/17: There are windmills, I guess.
Bonus: Things I didn’t learn:
Keystone, SD, 3/12/17: If there is a city of gold behind Mount Rushmore. :(
Cheyenne, WY, 3/13/17: Why there is a grocery store chain named “King Sooper’s” in Cheyenne. “Sooper’s”. Two “o”’s. Seriously.
Your friend,
Jonathan Gamble
