David John Hein was born on August 28, 1998. He has granted us an exclusive interview in celebration of his life, whilst watching the popular movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Jon Gamble: Where and when were you born?

David Hein: Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on August 28, 1998

Ferris Bueller: Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around every once in awhile, you could miss it.

JG: What's your best childhood story?

DH: When I told my grandma that my dad started the combine on fire and she started freaking out. My dad had actually hit a rock and the header was broken. It was funny, except when we were fixing it, my Pepsi got a hole in it, and my pants got all wet and sticky.

FB: A person should not believe in -isms, he should believe in himself.

James Schaser: What has been the least favorite thing that has been said about you?

DH: I hate it when people say that I'm the best, that I'm athletic, and that I've dabbed before.

JG: What would you do if you were playing hooky?

DH: I would go trade in my crusty Civ for a motorcycle and ride around the country.

FB: If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away?

DH, JG, & JS: No.

FB: Me neither.

JS: If you had to watch a movie, the same movie, every day, one time a day, what would it be?

DH: Either Hoosiers or The Notebook.

JG: How do you feel about kids these days?

DH: How do I put this nicely... They're getting too big for their britches.

FB: You can never go too far.

JS: What has been your favorite year of high school and why?

DH: Junior year. School was pretty easy and we were really good at baseball and we had a lot of fun phases during nighttime study hall.

JG: Who is your favorite prof to mess with?

DH: I can't pick one. Rodebaugh and Roehl, we have some pretty good times. And then there's always the lunch line with Sully. Oooh, Sippert, don't get me started on him.

JS: Do you have any advice for freshman?

DH: Don't anger someone who is larger than you. Bad things can happen.

FB: When the meek get pinched, the bold survive.

JG: Do you relate more to Cameron or Ferris?

DH: That is tough. I see a little bit of myself in both. I don't have as much guts as Ferris. I'm very indecisive like Cameron. I like to do random stuff like Ferris (like when I sledded down the pumphouse).

FB: You’re still here? It’s over. Go home… go!

Favorites:

Card game: Either Go Fish or Liar

Lunch meal: Orange chicken

Chick Flick besides The Notebook: The Vow

TV Show: How I Met Your Mother

John Denver song: “Looking for Space”
