Dear Freshman...
Every year a new group of freshmen comes in and has some things to figure out. Every year it seems that by three quarters of the way through the year they seem to have just about everything figured out and are becoming pros at being ILHS students.
This year’s freshmen need to figure out how to dump their trays after lunch. The first part is that you need to do a little preparation before you ever leave your seat. You compile all the garbage into one spot on your tray, whether it be in a bowl or on a corner.
After you get up you carefully take your tray over towards the garbage. You have to remember that you can only go to the garbage once. Either dump your things right away then stack your dishes, or stack your dishes and then dump your things. No matter what, don’t dump things, stack stuff, then dump more, then stack more.
The most important thing is that you go through as quickly as possible without dropping anything. Placing your items and dumping your trash is a generally overlooked skill, but nonetheless very important.
